LAKE CITY, FL -A family is doing all they can to bring attention to the need for a skate park to be built in the community of Lake City in Florida. The plans started after a 9 year old boy and his dad began to imagine how great it would be for the kids to have a skate park built. So they went to the town officials and started the lobbying process to have a skate park constructed.
After a short period of time, they realized how difficult it was, and started reaching out to others who might of experienced similar dismay. they contacted the Tony Hawk Foundation, and had architecture renderings of the “park” drawn.
This is a 20,000 sq ft facility that will have a 5ft x 24ft mini vert, 13ft x 52ft vert ramp, 9ft deep and 6 ft shallow pool and plenty of flow for all skill levels. This facility will cost between $850k – $900k.
After a few meetings with the town prolonged their desired result, they rethought their plans and decided to go “BiG”. That’s when they reached out to Tony Misiano, skate park developer and architecture guru to help with their plans. Now they have some initial drawings on how the park might be built.
